The Health Of Oregonians Is Endangered By Republicans and Democrats In Our Legislature. Oregonians MUST act - NOW.
If shameful and hypocritical still had meaning in politics, sadly they do NOT, then Oregon legislators from both parties would be guilty of behavior matching one or the other or both.
The failure of Republican and Democrat legislators to stop ongoing, fraudulent, official legislative emails which spew toxic medical disinformation about the coronavirus and seditious accusations against governor Brown could cause many Oregonians to die. Their reckless, self-serving behavior is a danger to the public health of all of us Oregonians.

What began as an unwarranted, indefensible, meritless, petty tribal pissing match between Republicans and Democrats during the 2017 session has had dangerous unexpected consequences. HB 2874 passed in 2017 had no group nor citizen support and did not attempt to solve any legitimate, identifiable problem.

Below are some disturbingly illuminating and incriminating excerpts from nine very long Republican Legislative Political Propaganda emails. The first three were sent by "Oregon State Legislature" <orstateleg@service.govdelivery.com>. An obvious fraud, they pretend to be from the Oregon Legislature. One or more public employees from the leg.helpdesk@state.or.us aided and abetted in this deception.
Examples 6 through 9 are from Republican chief propagandist, senator Brian Boquist. We do not know how many other Republicans are spreading dangerous lies, disinformation and seditious material to Oregonians without anyone’s knowledge or ability to correct or challenge. We need to find out.

A. Below is this week’s news clips compiled from citizens across Oregon. It competes with what used to be newspapers. Do not confuse this with an update or newsletter. [Exactly. This is a Republican political propaganda machine. So-called “citizen” authors are unidentified.]

F. Why isn’t the state-run media pointing out… Why does the state-run media blindly accept … Why is the state-run media silent… [That’s a lot of questions for a non-existent state-run media.]
G. The governor and Oregon Health Authority socialist scientists have repeatedly said that COVID-19 is spreading in family gatherings. Why shut down restaurants, which are cleaner than many homes and provide an opportunity for Oregonians to get out of their homes? [Disinformation]
H. Brown has hidden behind the Oregon Supreme Court who legislated from the bench [Disinformation. Judges take note.]

J. Boycott county, city and district government you know are enabling Governor Brown’s totalitarian rule. [Seditious]
K. this newsletter reaches six times the circulation of the largest tabloid in Oregon. [Contradicts A above. Six times the Oregonian's circulation would be about 840,000. Those are the numbers of a Republican Political Propaganda Machine NOT a legislative newsletter. There is no way 840,000 people from anywhere signed up to receive Boquist’s so-called constituent newsletter.]
L. State government technology controlled by the super majority Democrats does not allow us to reply to your emails at this address. Nor can emails be forwarded. [Really? The leg.helpdesk@state.or.us operating under the Oregon Department of Administrative Services is responsible for technical issues regarding email to and from "Oregon State Legislature" <orstateleg@service.govdelivery.com>. There is no evidence that DAS prohibits recipients of email to or from orstateleg@service.govdelivery.com from replying or forwarding email from that address.]
M. GovDelivery operated by state technicians does not allow us to reply to emails [GovDelivery is a non-governmental, for profit corporation run by the Granicus company. So is Granicus and/or anonymous state technicians blocking emails responding to the email header that clearly has a Reply-To: orstateleg@service.govdelivery.com?]
N. We do expect censorship in the future, just like used by the for-profit socialist corporate media and socialist corporate social media companies. O. Governor Brown taking steps to block a vaccine by partnering with other states to study the “safety” of a vaccine and maintain dictator-like control of each respective state. Vaccines should be an individual choice. [Disinformation]

C. Operation Warp Speed, led by the federal government, has the goal to produce and deliver 300 million doses of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines with the initial doses available by January 2021. Oregon could ask for some of the millions of vaccines that are sitting unused in cold storage. Americans should also be pushing for half-doses of the vaccine. [Operation Warp Speed was a failure. The Trump administration had no plan for vaccine distribution. There were no millions of extra doses and half doses are Disinformation.]
D. Masks and social distancing do more harm than good. [Disinformation]
E. Public education is rife with leftist indoctrination. [Disinformation]
F. A deficit within the ranks of the progressive party is that they do not value human life [This is no “progressive party”]
G. Democrats have made it very clear that they are the party of lawlessness and stand with violence. [See Capitol insurgency spawned by Donald Trump and Republican allies and following impeachment.]

A. An unarmed woman was shot and killed by police that day, and the people who scream about police brutality don’t care. E. The next logical step will be a move to eliminate lawyers and judges completely and to replace them with 'people's court' – a rallying cry for thousands of years. [What?]

Republicans have demonstrated that they have no moral, ethical or legal boundaries that they will not cross to achieve power. Oregon Republican legislators supported lying as the standard of political discourse for four years. Now they have expanded their disinformation stream under the protection of so-called constituent emails. It is abundantly clear that none of the above comports with the definition of legislative newsletter. They are Republican political machine propaganda provided almost entirely by anonymous sources.
We have recently seen mountains of evidence how an elected official, namely, Donald Trump, by disseminating disinformation can cause supporters to become insurrectionists and dangerous spreaders of disease.The same type of disinformation can and is being spread by legislative emails without recourse to challenge. This is dangerous business. Oregon Republican legislators must NOT be allowed to poison our body politic in secret without challenge. HB 2874 passed in 2017 must be repealed.
Battling dangerous disinformation not spreading it is the job of elected leaders. President Biden spoke of the need for leaders “to defend the truth and defeat the lies.” Repealing HB 2874 passed in 2017 is a step in that direction. Biden also said, “We must reject the culture,” he said, “in which facts themselves are manipulated and even manufactured.”

In Oregon, the state Republican Party isn’t just backing former president Donald Trump — its official position falsely claims that the entire episode was a “false flag” operation staged to discredit the GOP and silence Trump’s supporters.
The Oregon GOP, which has a small minority in the state legislature, nominated Jo Rae Perkins, a follower of the radicalized movement QAnon, to run against Sen. Jeff Merkley (D) in November. Merkley won 57 percent of the vote to Perkins’s 39 percent. In December, Republican state Rep. Mike Nearman was seen on surveillance footage exiting a back door of the Oregon Capitol and holding it open for far-right rioters to enter and storm the building. Last week, the Oregonian reported that Nearman’s chief of staff, Becky Mitts, is on the Oregon Republican Party’s executive committee, which voted to approve the resolution.
The evidence is overwhelming. The Republican Party does NOT support our constitutional democracy. It is dedicated to its destruction.
Challenging the authority of our governor to protect the public health is both seditious and could cause many Oregonians to die. We also do not know how many other members of the Oregon legislature are following a similar course of political propaganda which because of HB 2874 passed in 2017 hides the recipients of these inflammatory so-called “newsletters” preventing a challenge to their content by other elected officials and citizens. HB 2874 passed in 2017, https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2017R1/Downloads/MeasureDocument/HB2874/Introduced, was indefensible then and even more so today. The following Republicans voted against HB 2874 in 2017: Cliff Bentz, Cedric Hayden, Rick Lewis, Mike Nearman, Ron Noble, Bill Post, Werner Reschke, Duane Stark, Brian Boquist, Fred Girod, Bill Hansell, Tim Knopp, Dennis Linthicum, Alan Olsen, Kim Thatcher, Chuck Thomsen.
A landmark 1961 Oregon Supreme Court ruling says public records “should generally be accessible to members of the public so that there will be an opportunity to determine whether those who have been entrusted with the affairs of government are honestly, faithfully and competently performing their function as public servants." Access to recipient emails addresses of legislative newsletters before June 2017 were public records that met this definition. HB 2874 passed in 2017 is anathema to this goal.
Why has there not been a single Democrat in our legislature nor a single officer in the Democratic Party of Oregon nor the governor, Kate Brown, willing to stand up and denounce these Dangerous REPUBLICAN liars?
Democrats refusing to repeal HB 2874 passed in 2017 is tantamount to allowing Republican legislators to continue to promote death by lethal disinformation. If the Democrats do not stop the unchallenged dangerous health disinformation by returning the public records status of legislative email newsletter recipients then some of the deaths of those Americans/Oregonians from coronavirus will be on them as well as the Republican propagandists.

Representative (D) Marty Wilde is the only legislator willing to sponsor a bill repealing HB 2874 passed in 2017. Bravo Marty. Wilde now has the spotlight of truth in his hands. Will he use it for the benefit of the people of Oregon and shine it on his colleagues to illuminate their shame, disingenuousness and hypocrisy? Or will he shut off the light and slink in the legislative shadows of the Capitol? We shall find out soon enough.
This is a critical character and commitment to open government test of Oregon legislators over self-serving hypocrisy, embarrassment and cowardice. Those Republicans and Democrats who do NOT support repeal of HB 2874 passed in 2017 that prevents legislative accountability do not deserve our respect only our contempt.
