Portland Area Weekend Forecast Calls For Rain, Very High Winds
The National Weather Service's Portland office says that this weekend will bring both rain and showers. And some damaging winds.

The big issue for this weekend is what forecasters are calling a possible wind storm. If it happens, it will bring the effects listed above such as the downed trees and difficult travel.

Forecasters warn that "there is still much uncertainty in timing and strength" in the forecast.
They believe that "damaging winds" could strike Saturday afternoon and evening.
Here's the rest of the weekend forecast:
SATURDAY – The National Weather Service says to expect a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m. followed by a chance of showers after 10 a.m. They're putting the chance of precipitation at 80 percent. At some point during the day, they expected the showers to turn back to rain.
After 10 p.m., however, it will turn back to showers.
The high will be 47 and the low around 39.
SUNDAY – There is a 90 percent chance of showers. The high will be around 45 and the low around 38 degrees.
