Portland First Babies Of 2019 Welcomed Into The World Tuesday

It was a busy night at Providence's area hospitals as the first two babies born in the area in 2019, entered the world there.

PORTLAND, OR – There must have been some magic in the air at Providence Hospitals on New Year's Day. Two of the area's first babies of 2019 were born at their facilities.

It started with Harmony Faith Neil who arrived at 12:52 on New Year's morning when she arrived at Providence St. Vincent. She weights 8 pounds 1 ounce.

Her parents – Andrew Neil and Desirey Barry of Hillsboro – said that she arrived three days earlier.Harmony is their first child.

She was followed by Yu Lin Ma-Yuan, a baby girl born at Providence Portland about one hour later. She's 7 pounds and 15 ounces and is the second child for Giaoli and Freddie Ma of Portland.
