Portland Forecast: Forget White Christmas, Try Wet Thanksgiving

It's not going to be a bad week for late November in the Portland area. Highs will be in the mid50s, lows not below 40. Oh. There'll be rain

PORTLAND, OR – Overall, the Portland-area has been quite lucky. It's mid–, almost late November and the weather's been pretty good, even beautiful at times.

So, when you're headed out to Thanksgiving this week and it's pouring on Turkey Day, try to keep that in mind.

Forecasters for the National Weather Service's Portland office say that it should be pretty nice for most of the week.

The week will start sunny on Monday with a high around 56 degrees.

Tuesday will be pretty much be the same.

Wednesday things start to change with clouds moving in and chance of rain around 60 percent during the day and 70 percent at night. The high temperature will only reach 51 degrees.

Thanksgiving Day will only reach a high of 51 and there will be rain during the day followed by showers at night. The high only climbing just above 50 degrees.

The week ends on Friday with more showers and the temperature only hitting 49 degrees,

The lowest the temperature will get this week will be Monday night when it sinks to 40 degrees. The rest of the week will see lows in the low to mid 40s.
