Portland Forecast Says Here Comes The Snow Again (Above 500 Feet)
There's a Winter Storm Watch for the region beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, lasting until 2 p.m. Tuesday and an avalanche warning for Mt. Hood.

PORTLAND, OR – If you live below 500 feet, there will be some snow but mostly mixed with rain. If you live above 500 feet you, you could see up to six inches. If you happen to be up on Mt. Hood, you will be measuring the snow in feet.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the region. It goes into effect at 10 p.m. on Monday and lasts until 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
"Heavy snow possible," the forecasters write. "Total accumulations of up to 6 inches possible, most likely in the hills above 500 feet."

The weather service says that it will be mostly rain for the Monday evening commute with the rain possibly changing to snow by midnight "with snow becoming increasingly likely by the Tuesday morning commute.

Forecasters warn that things could change. They describe their confidence for accumulations in Clark County and Oregon locations above 500 feet as "moderate" and "lower confidence" in their predictions for the valley and Gorge floors.
Regardless of whether it's rain or snow, accumulating or not, the Winter Storm Watch means there is a good chance for significant snow, sleet, or ice that could affect travel. People are urged to keep checking the forecast.
Meanwhile, up on Mt. Hood, the Northwest Avalanche Center is warning of danger.
There is an avalanche warning in effect for the area, saying the danger is high because of the snow and wind. It remains in effect through Monday.
The ski areas are not affected because of avalanche mitigation efforts taken by the resorts.
