Portland Traffic Alert: Downed Trees Force Closure on West Burnside
Closure between Northwest Hermosa and Southwest Barnes expected to last into the Tuesday evening rush hour.

If you normally commute on West Burnside, you might want to make other plans. The Portland Bureau of Transportation announced the road will be closed to all traffic between Northwest Hermosa Boulevard and Southwest Barnes Road so crews can remove downed trees.

The road closure will go on intermittently through the Tuesday evening rush hour.

The work had been planned for earlier so as to avoid an impact on rush hour but PBOT says the work has been going longer than expected.
Trees up to 100 feet tall and leaning over from the landslide, creating a hazard for the roadway.

PBOT says people traveling in the area should use alternate routes and consider using Northwest Cornell Road or U.S. 26.
