Portland Traffic Alert: Overturned Gas Tanker Closes I-5, 3 Hurt

ODOT says that southbound traffic must leave I-5 at I-84 while northbound traffic has to exit at 405.

PORTLAND, OR – Three people were injured when a gas tanker overturned after crashing into three vehicles on Monday afternoon. One of the injured was rushed to the hospital as a trauma patient.

The other two were also seriously injured. None of the injuries are considered life threatening.

The tanker was carrying a liquefied carbon dioxide, which meant that Portland Fire & Rescue had to call in their hazmat team.

Traffic should be a mess for the rest of the afternoon.

The cause of the crash is still under the investigation.
