Portland Traffic Alert: Short-Term Pain For Long-Term Gain On Terwilliger

needed street improvements will bring a lane closure on Saturday.

Never too early to plan ahead. Especially when it comes to making travel plans. So, Saturday - if you were planning to head northbound on Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard - know this: you might want to choose another route.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation says that they will be doing street improvements on Saturday that require the northbound lane to be closed from Southwest Sheridan Street to Southwest Sam Jackson Park Road.

The closure will last from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will allow crews to repair and repave .66 miles of pavement.

Northbound traffic on SW Sam Jackson Park Road will be detoured southbound onto SW Terwilliger Boulevard to SW Capitol Highway and then to SW Barbur Boulevard.

The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.
