Portland Weather: Go Big Or Go Home As Area Sets Rain Record
It's been the wettest February in history for the area, beating the 1996 record. The difference that year - it came in just a few days.

That was the message from the National Weather Service's Portland Office in announcing that after 21 years, the area has set a new record for precipitation in February. On Tuesday, the area got .51 inches.

That brought the total for the month to 10.04 inches, breaking the record of 10.03 that was set in 1996.
The big difference - 1996 was the year of the great flood and most of that rain came in just a few days.
