Portland Weather: Winter is Coming, On Mt. Hood It's Already Here

Both Mount Hood Meadows and Timberline Lodge report getting at least four inches of fresh snow overnight. It's still too early to ski.

MOUNT HOOD, OR – There's snow on the mountain, clouds in the sky. It may be generally raining in Portland and the surrounding area but on Mount Hood where, the higher you go, the colder it gets, there was measurable fresh snow overnight into Monday.

Both Timberline Lodge and Mount Hood Meadows reported getting at least four inches.

"It's always exciting to see snow accumulating," Meadows writes on their website. "While we have a ways to go before we can open, we're dreaming of a season filled with snowy fun."

Meadows, whose season doesn't start until Dec. 2, reports that they received four inches overnight.

Timberline, meanwhile, reports that they received six inches.

Meanwhile, in Portland and the surrounding area, lots of rain is in the forecast.
