Portland Worst Day Of The Year Ride Postponed By Snow Forecast
"We can do cold and wet, but we cannot do ice," organizers of the Worst Day of The Year Ride said in announcing the postponement.

PORTLAND, OR – For nearly 20 years, thousands of bicyclists have gathered on a Sunday in February for what's billed as the "Worst Day of the Year Ride." In all those years, it's only been postponed once.
Make that twice.
Organizers said that because of the forecast of ice and snow being on the ground on Sunday morning, the ride has been pushed back two weeks until Sunday, Feb. 24.

The only other time the ride has been postponed was in 2014 when there were eight inches of snow and two inches of ice.

Events by Axiom, who stage the ride, said that the irony of the situation isn't lost on them.
"We get it," they wrote on the event's website. "It isn't that the weather is bad, it's that bikes and ice go together about as well as putting your left shoe on your right foot."
They say that they don't see the race being postponed again, adding that the route will be the same.
