Portland's Fabric Depot Closing Doors This Weekend After 26 Years

Fabric Depot posted the news on their Facebook page on Thursday. Within hours, there were hundreds of crying emojis being posted.

PORTLAND, OR – For more than 25 years, Fabric Depot has stood on Southeast 122nd Avenue as a beacon attracting quilters, sewers, and designers. That run ends on Sunday.

The store, which first opened 26-years-ago, announced Thursday that they would be shutting its doors for good.

"Dear Friends and Loyal Customers," they wrote on their Facebook page, "After 26 years in business, we are sad to announce that Fabric Depot is shutting its doors. We appreciate your patronage and loyalty throughout the years.

"Please come say your goodbyes and shop 40% off everything before we close our doors for the last time. Yours, The Fabric Depot Family."

No reason for the closing was given. The store does say that until closing, everything will be 40 percent off.

Within hours of the Facebook post, Fabric Depot's page was filled with sad emojis, crying emojis, and emojis expressing shock.
