Purringtons Cat Lounge Is Closing, Will Shut On November 30

The owners, who are moving out of state, hope to find a new owner for the cafe.

PORTLAND, OR – The last bowl of milk will be served Nov. 30. After nearly four years in business, Purringtons Cat Cafe is closing its doors.

The business, which bills itself as the only cat cafe and adoption center in the Pacific Northwest, opened in January 2015.

"It's not been a light decision, and we feel we are leaving on a high note," they wrote on the site. "Almost 600 cats have found homes since we opened "

As of Oct. 5, they had helped 591 cats find homes. They hope that number is above 600 by the time that they close.

As for why they are closing, "it's simply time to move on," they said.

The owner, who are moving out of state, hope to find a new owners for the business.

They say that it could be "a purrfect opportunity."
