Rose City Rollers Roll to Second Straight Championship
Once again, they defeated the Gotham Girls Roller Derby, who had once been seen as the Yankees of roller derby.

They are the champions. Again. The Rose City Rollers won their second straight roller derby championship on Sunday, defeating the Gotham City Girls Roller Derby 185-166.
The Rose City Rollers get to keep the International Women's Flat Track Derby Association's Hydra Cup for a second straight year.
They also defeated Gotham in 2015, ending their string of five straight championships.

The championships took place in Portland at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum over the past three days.
The Rollers started in August 2004 and now have more than 500 active skating members - including a junior program. The league also boasts of having hundreds of volunteers and support staff.
