"All of our botanicals are humanely caught, cage-free and grain-fed," Ryan Reynolds explain in a new ad for Portland-based Aviation Gin.
PORTLAND, OR – Ryan Reynolds has a few things to say about the Portland-based gin that he now owns. In a new commercial, Reynolds takes viewers through "the process" by which the gin is made.
And in the process, the Deadpool star pokes a bit of fun at Portland and its reputation as a place obsessed with "artisan."
"You know, people come up to me all the time and they say what makes Aviation Gin so delicious?" he asks."Most of the time I run away because non-celebrities frighten me, but here is the answer."

"The citrus fruits are misted using only the tears of Aviation’s owner: me, Ryan Reynolds," he says. "All of our botanicals are humanely caught, cage-free and grain-fed."
Reynolds says that the distillers will then apologize to each and every juniper berry.
The reason? Juniper can be pungent and to make the gin smoother, the distillers can be found "beating the hell out of them."
After each bottle is blessed by a minister from the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Fresno, CA, the bottles are then serenaded by Sarah McLachlan as they are shipped off to Portland for distribution.
After the commercial was released, Reynolds took to Twitter to thank McLachlan for letting them use her name, adding "True story: when I was 19, I bagged her groceries when I worked at Safeway.
"She was super nice."
Reynolds closes the commercial by calling Aviation an American original.... that's owned by a Canadian.
