Salem Man Wins $54K Using Dad's Old Lottery Numbers

His win last month actually marked the second time Thomas Osborne benefitted from using his father's old lottery numbers.

SALEM, OR — If they worked once, why not twice? That apparently was Thomas Osborne's philosophy when selecting his numbers for an Oregon Lottery Keno drawing at BlondZee's Guest House Restaurant in Salem last month.

Winning a "nice Keno prize" some years back playing the same eight numbers, Osborne felt they were lucky enough to try again, he told Oregon Lottery officials.

"The numbers I play were my father’s Keno numbers he played for years,” Osborne revealed while picking up his Keno prize at the Oregon Lottery's Salem headquarters Sept. 27. “I won another nice Keno prize a few years ago playing these numbers, so there’s no reason to use anything but those numbers."

Matching all eight numbers and taking the 8-Spot rolling jackpot, Osborne won a total $54,597. And even after the big win, he kept playing the same numbers and won another $6 in three more games.

If it work, it works. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
