Secretary Of State Dennis Richardson, In Cancer Fight, Cuts Back

Just about six weeks after saying that MRI scans had shown no growth in his tumor, Dennis Richardson says that he will be scaling back work.

PORTLAND, OR – Secretary of State Dennis Richardson, battling brain cancer since last Jun, announced Monday that he will be cutting back on office hours. The news comes barely six weeks after he announced that he would not be doing that.

"I will be scaling back my in-office hours to be able to rest and give my treatment every opportunity to succeed," he posted on his office's webpage. "I will, of course, continue to be in frequent and regular contact with my staff that has been doing incredible work since the day we took office over two years ago.

"I will also continue to be the decision-maker on all important issues."
