Ski Free Friday With Food Donation At Skibowl

Mt. Hood Skibowl will partner with the Portland Police Bureau to offer free lift tickets for food donations March 30.

MT. HOOD, OR — Donate food to the Portland Police Bureau's Sunshine Division for a lift ticket at Mt. Hood Skibowl this Friday.

By donating at least 10 items of food — such as peanut butter, chili, pasta, canned meats, rice, and cereal — skiers and snowboarders will get a lift ticket to ride free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30.

The Sunshine Division's donation truck will setup in the Skibowl West parking lot for the 30th annual Ski for Sunshine charity, which has seen more than 121,000 pounds of food donated with the partnership began in 1988.

“This is a great year to support the community during spring break by participating in ‘Ski for Sunshine’,” Sunshine Division bureau liaison officer Matt Tobey said. “Thirty years of support from Skibowl and their customers has resulted in hundreds of putting food on their tables and clothes on their backs in times of true economic hardship. This event has a huge impact on our mission and is a fun way for your family to spend a day during spring break.”
