Today’s top news stories for Portland’s
- Four people were killed in a shooting in Southeast Portland over the weekend. Police were called to a house in the 4000 block of SE Boise St. to find the four victims dead of gunshot wounds. The investigation is underway, but no suspects have been named.(KATU)
- Portland is the City of Roses and this weekend marked the 83rd Annual Royal Rosarian Rose Garden contest. Judging took place on Sunday and Monday, with the awards ceremony scheduled for June 21st at the International Rose Test Garden. (KOIN)
- A 36-year-old man went on a rampage through the downtown location of Nordstrom over the weekend. He faces several charges, including assaulting a security officer, fleeing from police and then assaulting a police officer. (KGW)
- Damian Lillard, the symbol of all things good in Portland, has shocked and dismayed fans by announcing his preferences for The Portland Trail Blazers next head coach. He said his top choice would be Jason Kidd, who accepted a plea deal in a domestic abuse case. His second choice was Chauncey Billups, who was accused of rape in 1997. Why, Damian, why? - A video has surfaced that appears to show Polk County Representative Mike Nearman coaching citizens on how he would let protesters into the locked state Capitol building. In a rambling talk filled with innuendo, he describes his actions during the Dec. 21st demonstration, when he exited the Capitol building allowing right-wing protesters to enter. (OPB)
