Touchstone Preschool Creates Earth Day Buzz with Ladybug Release

Students celebrated Earth Day by releasing ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Touchstone Preschool in Tigard have been buzzing with excitement for Earth Day! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by planting in the school garden and releasing ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees.

Leading up to Earth Day, students did a variety of activities to learn the importance of caring for Earth, as well as learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Touchstone Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
