Touchstone Preschool Students Donate Gifts, Food to Those in Need

Students at Touchstone Preschool in Tigard held donation drives in support of Sunshine Pantry and The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program

Students at Touchstone Preschool in Tigard recently donated hundreds of food items to benefit the Sunshine Pantry and more than 60 gifts for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. In November, students held a food drive and collected a variety of nonperishable items for Sunshine Pantry in Beaverton to help feed those in need during the holiday season. In December, students held a gift drive to fulfill the wishes of local children and seniors through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Students donated 60 gifts to the individuals they sponsored. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of spreading kindness and helping others.

Sunshine Pantry is a family-run food bank in Beaverton that supplies food, toiletries and clothing to more than 500 families in need a month. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothes and toys for 1 million children who usually go without gifts during the holiday season. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels" in an expanding holiday tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.
