Numerous communities throughout Oregon are hosting Veterans Day events to honor their local heroes. This list covers Portland proper.

The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs on Monday revealed its 2017 list of community Veterans Day events happening across the state.

Veterans Day is Nov. 11, but many cities are honoring their local servicemen and women with celebrations, parades, banquets, and more beginning this week.

The list of events being held in Portland will be shared here. To see the complete list of Oregon communities' events, click here. If you don't see your community's event listed, ODVA officials ask for your submissions at www.surveymonkey.com/r/EventSubmissions.

The 2017 Operation Code Benefit Dinner & Auction will celebrate the tens of hundreds of life-changing educational and mentorship opportunities provided throughout the country and across the globe since 2014 — while aspiring to deliver more next year. On Friday, November 10, 2017, we will come together at the Sentinel Hotel’s Governor Ballroom to pause, reflect, toast and celebrate how far we’ve come. We will honor those who’ve served in uniform and how much they’ve learned through the communities generosity. With your support, we will continue to fund our education programs and seed our first scholarship endowment so we can go further, faster tomorrow.
