Veterans Day 2018 Oregon: What's Open, What's Closed, And Parades
While the holiday falls on November 11, it's marked in many occasions on Monday. here's your Patch guide to what you need to know.

PORTLAND, OR – Veterans Day is about remembering and honoring those who have served the United States by being in the military. Part of the commemoration has always involved closing state and federal offices to give people a chance to take parts in parades, visit cemeteries, and honor veterans how they see fit.
It also means there are a good deal of holiday sales.
So, what's open and and closed? Where are the parades?

All federal, state, and local government offices and courts are closed on Monday;
Post offices are closed and there will be no mail delivery;
Parking meters are on their regular Monday schedule. If you park and there's a meter, pay; and
All transportation– TriMet buses, MAX and WES trains, and Portland Tram at OHSU are all running on regular Monday schedules.
There are also some opportunities for veterans and their families to take advantage of including National Parks across the United States are free for veterans and the Oregon Zoo is offering free admission to the families of service members who are deployed.
Everyone loves a parade and Portland comes through on Monday.
The annual Ross Hollywood Chapel Veterans Day Parade marches down Sandy Boulevard from 48th to 48oh beginning at 9:30 a.m..
Meanwhile in Wilsonville, there is the annual commemoration at the city's Oregon Korean War Memorial in Town Center Park beginning at 11 a.m..
