Westbound 84 Reopens After Police Chase Closes It For Hours
It started with a police chase in Vancouver. That led to a dramatic arrest on 84 that closed the westbound lanes for more than 12 hours.

PORTLAND, OR – If you were one of the many, many people caught in the horribleness that was the morning commute on westbound 84, the good news is that it will be better on your way home. The stretch has been reopened.
The closure started around 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening when a police chase that started in Vancouver made its way across the border and ended on 84 with an arrest.
Police had also closed the ramp letting drivers go from 205 to 84 to make sure that they didn't drive into the area where evidence was being collected.

There was also a crash on 84 eastbound by Fairview early Wednesday that contributed to the backups.

Officials had hoped to get everything open by 10 a.m. and were able to do so ahead of schedule.
