2 Bensalem Seniors Named National Merit Commended Students
The two students will be eligible for scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
BENSALEM, PA — Two seniors at Bensalem High School have been named "commended students" in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Ruo (Lucy) Chen and Yogesh Patel received a letter of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program. Commended students are named on the basis of nationally applied selection scores that, typically, are just below the level required to be named National Merit semifinalists.
Although commended students don't continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some do become candidates for special scholarships sponsored by corporations or businesses.
