$390K In Park Improvement Grants Awarded In Bucks County

Four Bucks County communities were awarded a total of $390,000 in grants from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Four Bucks County communities were awarded a total of $390,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the state announced Thursday.

The grants were part of a $28 million investment in 176 projects across Pennsylvania. The statewide grants are aimed to create new recreational opportunities, conserve natural resources and help revitalize local communities, officials said.

“Our communities thrive economically when people want to stay and businesses want to grow and these beautiful public spaces and new recreational areas help improve the quality of life across our commonwealth,” Governor Tom Wolf said.

The following grants were awarded in Bucks County:

Langhorne Borough: $40,000, Rehabilitation of Langhorne Community Memorial Association Park and Richardson House. Work to include renovation of pedestrian walkways and patio; ADA access, site amenities, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.

Morrisville Borough: $60,000, Design for approximately 0.10 miles of the D&L Canal Trail crossing Bridge Street in Morrisville. Work to include drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Richlandtown Borough: $40,000, Further development of Benner Park, Richlandtown Borough, Bucks County. Work to include construction of dog park, fencing and pedestrian walkways; installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing and fencing; ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.

Solebury Township: $250,000, Rehabilitation and further development of Aquetong Springs Park, Solebury Township, Bucks County. Work to include restoration of stream bank and meadow; construction of pedestrian pathways, boardwalks, parking; and installation of fencing, educational signage, ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.
