Avril Lavigne To Play Parx Casino

BENSALEM, PA — Pop star Avril Lavigne will be hitting the stage in Bensalem as part of her first concert tour in five years.

The Grammy-nominated singer will bring her "Head Above Water" tour to Parx Casino on Friday, Oct. 11. The show, at the casino's Xcite Center, is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The concert will mark the first time the artist known for hits like "Sk8er Boi" and "Complicated" will play Bucks County.

Tickets are $60-100 each and are on sale now. One dollar from each ticket will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation.

Lavigne has sold more than 40 million albums and 50 million singles worldwide. She has earned eight Grammy nominations and won eight Juno Awards — Canada's equivalent of the Grammy.

She made Billboard's Top 10 on its "Best of the 2000's" chart and set the Guinness World Record for being the youngest female solo artist to top the charts in the United Kingdom. Her video for "Girlfriend" became the first music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube.

After the singer's battle with Lyme Disease, her Avril Lavigne Foundation supports people with the disease and other serious illnesses and disabilities.

Last year, Lavigne released her first new music in five years with the single "Head Above Water," which details her fight with Lyme Disease.
