BENSALEM, PA — Punk-pop singer Avril Lavigne is coming to Pennsylvania this fall. Lavigne will play at the Xcite Center Parx Casino and Racing, for her "Head Above Water Tour" on Oct. 11, and tickets are now on sale.

The Canadian singer/songwriter has been performing since age 15, when she appeared on stage with Shania Twain. Avril Lavigne's first studio album, "Let Go," debuted in 2002, and listeners were entranced by here skate punk persona. The singer is said to have paved the way for females in the pop-punk arena.

Avril Lavigne has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. She is among the bestselling Canadian female artists of all time — only trailing Celine Dion and Shania Twain. The star first saw mainstream success with the single, "Complicated," which hit number one in several countries across the globe. Her second studio album, "Under My Skin," was the singer's first album to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S.

It's been a steady climb ever since. Avril Lavigne's third studio album, "The Best Damn Thing," hit number one in several countries. That's thanks in part to the mega-hit single, "Girlfriend." "Goodbye Lullaby" and "Avril Lavigne" were also gold certified in the U.S. and Canada in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

It's been some time since the singer has released a new album, so fans were waiting with bated breath for "Head Above Water," which debuted in February 2019. Her tour of the same name kicks off this fall, traveling from Oakland, CA, to 12 other cities across the U.S. and Canada. Dates range from Sept. 17 to Oct. 11, when the tour wraps in Philadelphia.

Fans won't want to miss the show in Bensalem this October. Showgoers are sure to hear Lavigne's classic hits along with singles from the new record like "Head Above Water," "Dumb Blonde" and "Tell Me It's Over." Tickets are now on sale for the show at Xcite Center - Parx Casino and Racing on Friday Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.
