Bensalem High Marine JROTC Wraps Toys For Tots Drive
The students learned about the history of the charity, which is run by the U.S. Marine Corps.

BENSALEM, PA — Marine Corps Junior ROTC student cadets at Bensalem High School on Friday wrapped up their 2020 support for the Toys For Tots program.
Instructors taught the cadets all about Toys For Tots, which was founded in 1947 and is run by the U.S. Marine Corps. They learned about Reserve Marine Maj. Bill Hendricks, who founded the nonprofit in Los Angeles, and the contributions of his friend Walt Disney, who designed the charity's first national poster.
"Despite the difficult days these youngsters have endured thus far this semester, they rose to the occasion - yet again - and surpassed every expectation," school officials said in a news release. "Their selfless efforts inspire their instructors to see the true goodness coming in the days ahead."
