Bensalem To Host 'Scarecrow Row' Contest
Up to 25 scarecrows will be displayed at the municipal complex and compete in three categories.

BENSALEM, PA — Bensalem Township is inviting residents to get in the fall spirit with a scarecrow contest.
Hosted by the Bensalem Township Parks and Recreation Department, the Scarecrow Row contest invites people to create a family-friendly scarecrow that will be put on display at the municipal complex.
The event is open to Bensalem residents and limited to 25 people or families. Due to coronavirus restrictions, all scarecrows must be assembled at home.

Entries should not be political in natures and should not contain any gore. They must be made to withstand outdoor weather conditions, may not be larger than six feet tall and can't contain perishable goods or be powered by electricity or kinetics.
Entries will be on display through Oct. 22 and must be picked up and removed by Oct. 23. The parks and recreation department reserves the right to remove and discard any scarecrows left after that.

Contest winners will be announced by Oct. 22 in the categories of Traditional, Creative/Original and Youth (14 and under).
To participate, entrants must complete and submit a pre-registration form no later than Sept. 25. The form, which can be found online, should be submitted to parks and recreation, at 2400 Byberry Rd.
