Bensalem Prepares For Winter Storm
Officials have declared a snow emergency, with forecasts now calling for a much as 18 inches of snow starting on Sunday.

BENSALEM, PA — Officials in Bensalem have declared a snow emergency as the region prepares for a winter storm that forecasters now say could bring as much as 18 inches of snow to some areas.
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo declared a snow emergency for Bensalem, officials announced Sunday morning.
Bensalem Police were urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remove their vehicles fron streets so township snow plows can clear the snow.

"Our public works is prepared for this and we want to make sure that we take care of it as we always do," said Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo in a video posted to social media on Friday.
He urged residents to park in driveways and parking lots, not the township's streets.

By Sunday morning, forecasters had increased snowfall accumulation estimates in connection with the storm expected to arrive later Sunday and last through Tuesday.
Parts of the Philadelphia suburbs could now see as much as 18 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. As much as two feet could fall in some areas of the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos.
A winter storm warning is in place from Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon.
