BENSALEM, PA — Officials and authorities in Bensalem are preparing themselves, and the public, for storms that could bring more than six inches of snow to the area in the next few days.

"Our public works is prepared for this and we want to make sure that we take care of it as we always do," said Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo in a video posted to social media on Friday.

He urged residents to park in driveways and parking lots, not the township's streets, to make it easier for crews to clear snow from them.

The Weather Channel said Friday that the chances of a significant Northeast snowstorm "are increasing" but cautioned it was still too early to know where the storm will hit the hardest. There may be a sharp gradient between little snow and heavier snow along the northern edge of this storm, making snowfall predictions at this point difficult, The Weather Channel said.
