Bensalem Restaurant Inspections: Dead Mouse At Pizza Place

BENSALEM, PA — Eight health violations were found at a Bensalem pizza restaurant this week, including a dead mouse in a closet and dead roaches in more than one place.

The Bucks County Health Department inspection of Sarappo's Neshaminy, at 3328 Bristol Rd., took place Monday. According to inspectors, a dead mouse and a "large amount of droppings" were found in a utility closet.

There were bread slices on the floor in the same closet, inspectors said.

They said there also were dead roaches under a prep sink and in a mop-sink closet. The inspectors said they found several gaps, torn screens and doors that did not close all the way — along with "significant amounts of food residue, grease and food debris on and under many surfaces."

According to inspection reports, there were seven violations when Sarappo's was last inspected in October and at least four violations have been found every time it was inspected since 2018.

The inspectors ordered the restaurant to contact a pest control company immediately, treat the restaurant and submit a report to the health department by Monday.
