The ashes were mailed from New Jersey in December, after her mother died from COVID in a nursing home.

BENSALEM, PA — A Bensalem woman's months-long quest to find her mother's ashes is finally over.

NBC10 Philadelphia reports that Joanne DeGaetano has finally received the remains of her mother, Ruth, who died of COVID-19 at a New Jersey nursing home in December. The remains were mailed on Dec. 28.

When they never arrived, she reached out to NBC10 for help. The news team contacted the U.S. Postal Service and, after they did, DeGaetano said she got her first phone call from USPS. It took another two weeks, but she finally got a phone call saying the remains had been found.
