Bensalem World War II Vet Passes Away At 92
Edward McGonagle of Bensalem passed away on May 19 at the age of 92. He served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer during WWII.

Edward J. McGonagle of Bensalem passed away on May 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 92 years old.
Edward, who has been retired for many years, was a long-time member of the Plasterer's Union Local 8 where his plastering was showcased at many of the elaborate churches and hotels in Philadelphia. He also served his country with distinction in the US Army as a Combat Engineer during WWII.

He loved to play pinochle and do jigsaw puzzles. As a hobby, he also made statues for many family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Guenther), to whom he was married to for 68 years, and children, Frederick (Debbie), Edward (Marge), Elizabeth Iskra (Robert), Thomas (Betty) and Patricia Baker (Jeff).
Edward was pre-deceased by his son, Robert and grandson Shane. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family and friends are invited to Edward's Life Celebration, Wed May 25th , from 9:30-10:30am, at the Church of St. Ephrem, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem and to participate in his Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Holy Redeemer Hospice,12265 Townsend Rd., Phila, PA 19154 would be appreciated.
