Bucks Co. Towns With Most COVID Cases As 4th Wave Continues
Bucks County's new coronavirus cases increased 7 percent last week and the 20 COVID deaths reported were the most since February.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Even with its COVID-19 vaccination program hitting its stride, Bucks County is continuing to wrestle with new cases in what health experts call a fourth wave of the pandemic.
Nearly 2,000 new coronavirus cases (1,977) were reported in Bucks County last week, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. That's a 7-percent increase over the previous week and brought the county's case total to 55,980 since the pandemic began.
Last week also saw 20 new deaths attributed to COVID in Bucks County. That's the most since February, and brings the county's total to 1,212.

Hospitalizations stayed roughly stead, with 116 COVID-19 patients in Bucks County hospitals at the end of the week, with 24 of them in intensive care and 11 on ventilators.

Not surprisingly, the population centers in Lower Bucks County have been the hardest hit by the virus.
