The county's public clinics gave more than 14,000 shots last week, the most ever, despite one clinic pausing on Johnson & Johnson shots.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County's COVID-19 vaccination clinics set a new record for number of shots given last week, despite one location closing as officials study the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

On Saturday, the county's four remaining clinics finished their busiest week yet, giving 14,189 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

That brought the total by all Bucks County providers, including hospitals and pharmacies, to 343,204 doses. In all, 133,696 people had been fully vaccinated in Bucks County and another 89,085 had received a single dose of a two-dose vaccine.

After some early bumps, the number of vaccinations being given in Bucks County has ramped up dramatically in the past few weeks. By comparison, 13,847 doses were administered at Bucks clinics during the last week of March and just 2,975 were given at those clinics the final week of February.

In the early days of its vaccination program, Bucks County complained about the limited supply of vaccine it was receiving from state health officials, who, in turn, blamed an insufficient amount of vaccine they were getting from the federal government.
