Why are you seeking elective office?
As a member of the Bensalem Public Relations and Outreach committee, I had the opportunity to meet many families of the Bensalem School District and have gotten to know their values and educational goals. As part of the committee, I have also learned about many of the challenges the School District is facing in these uncertain times, including the myriad of fiscal constraints. I recognize and value the areas we can grow. I seek to improve transparency and communication which is desperately needed in our district.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
As we continue to evolve through this crisis, we need to ensure our students' safety & achievements, along with our teachers and support staff. Once we begin to emerge from this pandemic, we need to start proactive long-term planning strategies for academic improvements as well as comprehensive financial planning. Gathering information from all different points will ensure I can make the best decision for our students, staff and community as a whole. My goal is to continue to build a district that gives our community pride and sets our students up for success.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As a lifelong resident of Bensalem and graduate of Bensalem High School, it provides me a unique perceptive. After I graduated from college, I decided to raise my family in Bensalem. My oldest is also a graduate of BHS and my youngest a junior at BHS. As a parent with children that have attended and currently attend the Bensalem School District, I see firsthand how the District supports students. I have built strong relationships with many teachers, support staff and administrators throughout the years.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Being active in the Bensalem Public & Outreach committee has provided me the opportunity to work with the district and the outside community. I will be steadfast in ensuring our Schools' progress into the future. My experiences will allow me to be an essential voice for the community while serving in the position.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Do not ever stop learning and growing as a person
