Design An Escape Room, Win $500 In Bensalem

BENSALEM, PA — Are you an escape room fanatic? Have ideas about a room you'd like to see? If that's the case, you might just pocket yourself $500.

The Great Escape Zone in Bensalem is holding a contest to design its next escape room. From now through April 30, you can submit your new room design and, on May 17, they'll select a winner.

That winner will take home the $500 prize.

Each room design must be based around a central theme, with a brief backstory to the adventure. You can visit The Great Escape Zone's website to see descriptions of their current rooms.

Each room design must include a minimum of 10 puzzles, with each puzzle leading to the next. The final puzzle of the room must resolve the storyline you've created and reveal the final key to open the door and escape.

It should be able to be finished in 60 minutes, though it shouldn't be so easy that everyone will escape with time to spare.

Each submission must include a detailed walk-through of how the room should be completed. This means explanations of how each puzzle works and leads to the next, as well as what props or other equipment would be required to create the puzzles.
