Here's Your July 4 Weekend Forecast For Eastern PA

Forecasters have made their predictions for what the weather will bring us during the July 4 weekend.

You may get a little wet this weekend. But it may not be enough to cancel the fireworks celebrations.

Thunderstorms are in the eastern Pennsylvania forecast for the July 4 weekend and on Independence Day, but New Jersey shouldn't be soaked as tens of thousands travel to the beaches.

Most of the rain and thunderstorms will happen between 3 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for parts of eastern Pennsylvania as the region will be impacted by possible thunderstorms this weekend and intense humidity (see forecast below).

But most of the dampness will come from humidity as temperatures rise back above 90 degrees.

Steamy air that was suppressed to near the Gulf of Mexico coast at the start of the week has begun to spread northward toward New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to an AccuWeather release.

"People in much of the East will be turning up their air conditioners and fans to help cope with the return of the steamy air following cool and refreshing conditions of late," according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.

The humidity will reach typical levels for the middle of the summer in Pennsylvania. Coastal areas will stay locked in the steamy air, according to AccuWeather.

Thunderstorms have the potential to impact Independence Day fireworks, but the storms are likely to be widely separated and generally limited to the afternoon in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
