Jazz Legend Herbie Hancock To Play Parx
Hancock is a 14-time Grammy winner and, in 2008, he won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for "River: The Joni Letters."

BENSALEM, PA — Now in the sixth decade of his career, jazz legend Herbie Hancock will bring his show to Parx Casino next weekend.
Hancock plays the casino's Xcite Center at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8.

Hancock, 78, is a pianist, keyboardist, band leader and composer who started his career backing Donald Byrd and, soon afterward, joined the Miles Davis Quintet. In the '70s, he embarked upon what would become his trademark of experimenting with new styles, including jazz fusion, funk and electronic music.
His best known compositions include "Watermelon Man," "Cantaloupe Island," "Maiden Voyage," "Chameleon" and "Rockit," which became an '80s pop hit.

Currently, Hancock serves as the Creative Chair for Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and as Institute Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz.
