Lanes On U.S. 1, Street Road In Bensalem To Close Next Week

There are some daytime closures planned, and some times in the evening and overnight when U.S. 1 will be down to a single lane.

BENSALEM, PA — Lanes on U.S. 1 and Street Road in Bensalem will be closed next week as construction in the area continues.

The closures are part of a project to rebuild, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of U.S. in Bensalem, according to PennDOT.

The work schedule for next week is:

  • Sunday, Oct. 27, through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., single lane closures will be in place periodically on southbound U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway
  • Sunday, Oct. 27, through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., eastbound and westbound single lane closures will be in place periodically on Street Road between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way
  • Monday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., northbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway for soil testing operations
  • Tuesday, Oct, 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., single lane closures will be in place on eastbound Street Road between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way for utility construction

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and slowdowns are expected to occur.
