Levittown Man Had Hatchet, Handgun On NJ Beach: Police

LEVITTOWN, PA — A Levittown man is facing charges after he was seen carrying a hatchet and handgun on a New Jersey beach over the weekend.

Nelson P. Delisa, 38, was arrested without incident after other beachgoers reported seeing him at Higbee Beach with the hatchet and gun just before 2:30 p.m., according to authorities.

Delisa’s firearm was discovered to be a pellet gun, The Press of Atlantic City reported. Both the gun and the hatchet were safely recovered from the parking lot.

Police said Delisa was released on a summons pending a future court date. He faces charges of unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession and distribution of hypodermic syringes.
