Longtime Bensalem Resident Dies At 54 After Battle With Cancer

T​homas E. Sablich passed away May 30 after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma.

Thomas E. Sablich, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. He was 54.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a resident of Bensalem for 27 years. Tom was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, Class of 1980. He was self-employed, having started his commercial door business at the age of 25 for the purpose of securing a future for his family. His passions included his 1968 Plymouth Barracuda, his Harley Davidson, his vacation home in the Poconos and being in the company of his family and friends. Tom will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Kelly Sablich (Rogers).

He was the devoted father of Tommy Jr., Tyler (Fiancé Chelsea) and Kelsey Sablich. He was the beloved son of Mary Schrode. He was the brother of Jack (Debbie) Sablich, Joe (Jan), Bob (Mary), Steve (Angie), Ed (Chris), Debbie Scarpello, Pat McCrorey (Frank) and Carol Smith-Sablich (Lisa). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, John Sablich, and his sister, Maryanne Stanton. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, June 7, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his Mass at 11:00 a.m. and his Rite of Committal at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in his memory to Melanoma Research Foundation, P.O. Box 759329, Baltimore, MD 21275-9329 or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028.
