Man Wanted In Hunter's Murder Arrested In Bensalem
The New Jersey man had been on the run since Dec. 23, when a 54-year-old was found stabbed, slashed and beaten to death.

BENSALEM, PA — A New Jersey man wanted in the murder of a hunter was arrested Tuesday in Bensalem, according to authorities.
Shawn Massey, 38, of Gibbsboro, N.J., was taken into custody in Bensalem at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Detectives say a Bensalem Township Police officer was driving when he recognized Massey as being wanted in the death of Joseph Bottino, 54, of Gloucester Township, N.J.
Massey was taken into custody without incident, prosecutors said.

Massey has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in Bottino's Dec. 23 death.
That day, police were called to an area where Bottino had been known to hunt. He was found with visible traumatic injuries, according to prosecutors. A medical examiner determined Bottino died from a combination of stab and slashing wounds, as well as blunt force injuries.

Prosecutors say evidence at the scene led them to Massey. When investigators went to speak with him in the following days, his family members said he was missing and that they had not heard from him since Dec. 23.
Massey was formally charged in the case on Jan. 16. He was being held late Tuesday at Bucks County Correctional Facility.
