A memorial service has been scheduled for a Bensalem teen who died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash in November.

A memorial service has been scheduled for a Bensalem teen who died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash in November. Jessica Kurtz, 19, died Nov. 28 — one day after she was hit by a car on Street Road. She was a 2017 Bensalem High School graduate.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Scottsville United Methodist Church, 2400 Brownsville Rd., Langhorne, according to an obituary posted Jan 1.
James Howell, 48, of Philadelphia has been charged with driving at the time of the fatal accident. Kurtz's boyfriend, Will Vanarsdale, was also hit.

According to information from Lower Southampton Police, the pair was struck by a car on Street Road in the area of Philmont Avenue around 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 27. The vehicle, described as a two-tone maroon and tan or gray pickup truck, hit the pedestrians, then the driver briefly stopped at the scene. The driver, later identified as Howell, then got back into his truck and fled eastbound on Street Road into Bensalem, police said.
