At Neshaminy State Park, teams and individuals will be plunging into icy water to benefit Special Olympics athletes.

BENSALEM, PA — If you're willing to get cold and wet for a cause, you're big day is coming up.

Hundreds of area residents will be "freezin' for a reason" on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the 2019 Eastern Polar Plunge at Neshaminy State Park. Sponsored by Polar Plunge PA and benefiting Special Olympics Pennsylvania, the event lets participants take an icy dive for charity.

The schedule for that day runs as follows:

Those interested can join a team, start their own team or participate alone. Participants who raise money for their plunge can qualify for incentives, ranging from a stainless-steel tumbler all the way up to a new Xbox, laptops, televisions, a custom bike and more.

Money raised by the Plunge will help nearly 20,000 Special Olympics athletes, allowing them to train and compete free while receiving benefits like free medical screenings and social events.
