Registration Opens For Bensalem PAL Elementary Basketball League
League play will begin June 21 and run through Aug. 2 and is open to the first 100 boys and girls entering the fifth or sixth grade.
BENSALEM, PA — The Bensalem Police Department has announced its annual Police Activities League elementary basketball league, which will begin in June and run through August for students entering the fifth and sixth grade.
The league will run from June 21 through August 2 and the top two teams will play for the league championship on Aug. 5. The program is opened to the first 100 Bensalem Township residents to register and is open to boys and girls that will be entering the fifth and sixth grade starting in the fall.
The program is free, and participants must show a proof of residency upon request. Games will be played on Monday nights at Bensalem Township Community Park. Games will begin at 6:15 p.m. as the park is closed from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday due the summer Rec Camp, which is being held at the site during the day.

Due on ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, only immediate family members of players will be allowed to watch games, officials said. All others will be turned away and masks must be worn by spectators, coaches, and players. Players will not be required to wear masks while they are on the court during games.
Spectators will be asked to leave the area at the conclusion of all games so that the area can be prepared for the next game.

Registration will run through May 26 or until the maximum capacity has been reached. Registration is online and can be completed at https://bensalempal.siplay.com. Parents are not permitted to students request to be placed on the same team unless they are siblings.
