At-Risk Teen Behaviors Exposed In Program By Bensalem Police

A special mock bedroom program by Bensalem police will help parents identify at-risk teen behaviors that could be sitting in plain view.

What does your teenage child's bedroom look like? And can you identify any warning sings of at-risk behavior by examining it?

Find out this spring and summer, during a special program offered by Bensalem Township police. The police have converted a conference room to look like a teenager’s bedroom. Parents are invited to stop by, examine it, and talk with police on how to identify possible at-risk behaviors.

For the next few months, residents can visit the mock teen bedroom and learn what they should look for as possible warning signs of drug and alcohol use, mental health concerns, unhealthy relationships, and other concerning adolescent behaviors.

"In today’s environment where these problems continue to increase every day, we must use every tool in the toolbox to help parents/guardians and caregivers to manage all of the possible things kids are exposed to," Bensalem Police said.

Officers will be on hand to give parents a tour of the room, provide information, and help them seek assistance if needed.
