Breaking: The severe thunderstorm watch is in place through 7 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in the Philadelphia region, including in Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

According to forecasters, the watch is in place through 7 p.m. Wednesday.

"Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible as a squall line develops ahead of a strong cold front. Damaging winds and frequent lightning are the main hazards; however, some hail is possible. Storms will produce heavy rain, and there may be localized flooding in areas of poor drainage," the alert said.
